Old Wulfs 1s turned out comfortable winners against Stone 3s with a convincing 4-0 win.
Great play across the width of the pitch and pressure told at 10 mins when Stone allowed Si Evans to ghost in at the far post and finish off a good Wulfs attacking move after the keeper made good initial saves from Minton and Flanagan.
1 quickly became 2 with Flanagan finishing off a fine solo goal from the top of the D at 20 mins, squeezing between keeper and post.
Just before half time Minton managed to get on the end of a brilliant cross from the left, beating the keeper to the ball and deflecting it in for a 3-0 lead at the interval.
The second half was a little more even but Wulfs were firmly in control and at no point looked in any danger defensively. It was probably this security which prompted Cartwright to pick the ball up just inside the opposition half, ride a few tackles and take a shot when he got into the opposition D, scoring his first goal since the days of the dinosaurs.
Full time came with a very strong victory against a team who are always strong at home. Wulfs are now 8 points clear at the top of the league, with A big game against Sutton, tied in second, to come next week.
Scorers - Evans, Flanagan, Minton, Cartwright
