A late afternoon fixture away against fellow promoted team saw a familiar Old Wulfs story. String first half, dominating possession, but not able to make the pressure count. Going done a goal, stand-in skipper Archie Harris levelled it up for the visits before the break. However, early on the second half a hamstring injury to Darryl Ablard upset the plan. Switching things around at the back invited pressure from Sutton, who took the lead for a second time. A great goal from Sam Aldersley levelled it again, with a performance that earned him MOTM. It ended with honours shared, and the first points of the season for both sides.
Another day where the quality of the performance didn't quite get the reward in the result. Our time will come.
